How to get paid for your time

Wow, Copyblogger really nailed it here. It is a great read and much needed advice - especially by me!

From the site....
“I’d love to take you to lunch and pick your brain sometime.”
I didn’t know what to say or do. I felt my face turning red and I stammered out an excuse about getting back to her when I checked my calendar.

Ouch. While we can all appreciate needing to pick someone's brain - it is a good post on how not to let brain-picking (or not getting paid for your knowledge/ideas/work) take over. Go read the article on Copyblogger.

  1. I really like this blog. I read it on a regular basis. One question: Do you find that having blogs on both Wordpress and Blogger help with traffic?

  2. Hi Champlain Donna,
Thanks so much for reading our blog. I have a blog on Wordpress (Pragmatic Mom) and this blog on blogger. It is not for SEO purposes but to learn two platforms for consulting work. That being said, I prefer Wordpress. It's more powerful and only slightly more complicated to learn -- it really depends on the template you choose.

I have heard that Wordpress gets slightly better SEO, but I am not too sure about that.

I don't think I get better traffic from one blog to the other because it's two different platforms. Frankly, the readers of this blog are not necessarily interested in my parenting blog. But that's ok. Both blogs have a focused niche and that's the important thing.
